Bienvenidos a Noticias Baloncesto, un blog del baloncesto de mujeres in Espanol y Ingles. The aim of this blog is to carry year-round information on women's basketball, from high school to the pros. I plan to provide Spanish-language reporting of U.S. basketball games and news, and English translations of Spanish league happenings.
The purpose of this blog is partly educational (for me) and partly to provide a service. I am a sportswriter who is learning Spanish in order to cover Spanish-speaking athletes and athletic leagues in Spanish-speaking countries. I also really love women's basketball and wish there was better coverage of the WNBA players and former U.S. college stars who play overseas during the winter.
I can't do anything about the women who go to play in Israel, Italy, Croatia, Russia or Greece, but I know I can read Spanish-language reports of women's basketball in Spain, Cuba and Puerto Rico. I'm looking forward to sharing whatever I learn.
About this blog
The News from Downtown carries articles about women’s basketball written in both Spanish and English. So far, all the articles are my own translations of other people’s work. My limited knowledge of US Copyright law leads me to believe that for me to translate other people’s work is fair use of that work, and protected under that provision. In every case, I have provided a link to the original work, but have not reproduced that original work on this page. Where the author is named, I have given him or her credit in the body of the translation. If you see a piece of your own work translated here and you believe I have trespassed your copyright, please send an email to hoop.news@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to discuss it.
Please note that my scholarly works are also protected by copyright.
