Jenni Benningfield leaves Cadi for the WNBA

The north American wing-pivot will join the New York Liberty next week, leaving Cadi this week. Benningfield and club ownership, Sedis Bàsquet have come to an agreement to terminate her contract prior to the end of the season.

Benningfield's reason for leaving Cadi is her signing with the U.S.-based WNBA New York Liberty. She expects to join her new team next week in order to be there for the preseason. Further, the team has agreed to her leaving, which was not unexpected. Benningfield will play her last game with the team on Saturday, April 19, against Olesa Espanyol.
This season, Benningfield has played in 14 of the club's 24 games. The center-wing had been bothered by an injury (torn calf muscle) that laid her low through the middle of the season. She averaged 13.5 points per game, 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
